Husband and wife, Steven Shaw and Helen Blackburn have been encouraging couples to take to the dance floor and enjoy dancing for many years. Based in Leeds 15, West Yorkshire, they teach Modern Ballroom Dancing, Latin American and Sequence Dancing, and also social Rock’n’Roll and Salsa.
Their popular ballroom and latin dance classes have grown year on year, teaching couples who have never danced before and encouraging them to take to the dance floor with confidence. Their classes are fun, friendly and a great way to spend one hour each week.
They are successful Inventive Dance winners, Triple Classique De Danse award winners and have received a Carl Alan award for their outstanding contribution as a Classical Sequence Partnership.
Helen has previously won both the British Amateur Modern Sequence and the British Professional Classical Sequence Championships and is a triple Carl Alan Award recipient. Helen previously wrote for ‘Dance Today’ magazine, now known as ‘Dancing Times’.
Both Steven and Helen are Championship Adjudicators and are available for lectures and private tuition at all levels.
