Welcome to Enjoy Dancing Leeds
We’re Steven Shaw and Helen Blackburn. For many years, as husband and wife, we’ve been inspiring couples to embrace the joy of dancing. Based in Leeds 15, West Yorkshire, we specialise in teaching Ballroom Dancing, Latin American and Sequence Dancing.
Our popular dance classes welcome people of all experience levels — especially complete beginners. We create a fun and friendly atmosphere, making it easy for you to gain confidence and enjoy your time on the dance floor. Alongside our group classes, we also offer one-to-one lessons tailored just for you.

Professional Experience
We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy many wonderful moments in our dancing careers. Along the way, we’ve received the Inventive Dance and Triple Classique De Danse awards, and were deeply honoured to be presented with the Carl Alan Award for our outstanding contribution to Classical Sequence dancing.
Creating new dances has always been a passion of ours, and over the years we’ve choreographed more than a hundred prize-winning sequence routines. The Tayside Tango and Saunter Shiraz, have become favourites with dancers, while others — such as the Canterbury Quickstep and Arcadia Foxtrot — are still danced in competitions today.
Helen has also had the privilege of winning both the British Amateur Modern Sequence and British Professional Classical Sequence Championships, and she now represents the Allied Dancing Association Ltd on the British Dance Council’s Sequence Advisory Committee.
As Championship Adjudicators, we also enjoy sharing our knowledge through lectures and private tuition, helping dancers at every stage — from beginners with big dreams to professionals polishing their skills.
